Life's a Lich
Being a hero is great! Vandalize people's homes, assault strangers, rob estates, and everyone bows down to kiss your feet. Does anyone ever stop to consider the people who spent their lives building this infrastructure trying to really make a difference?
The answer is hidden within hours and hours of gameplay in "Life's a Lich (and then you scry)"
Made for the GMTK game jam with the theme "roles reversed" in 48 hours-ish. The player reverses roles with a villain of dungeons they have terrorized in the past. Trying to maintain the staff and treasury of a business isn't easy when heroes are relentlessly coming to kick your doors down!
Controls:
Use your mouse to interact with objects in the scene. Prevent the hero from reaching your keep for as long as possible!
- Click the gong to see resumes and hire goons with the stack of coins on your right. Click through resumes to see your options and click the X to send 'em home.
- Click the arrows at the bottom of the screen to see your tasks on the left and your scrying orb on the right.
- Scry to reveal traits about the hero (and learn to defeat them)
- Assign goons in your roster to tasks that are available and send them to work by clicking "GO"

Took a while, but finally hit -10k gold. Would be interesting if something happened when being in debt too long, like workers start leaving or something.
Also, scrolling is super slow, and trying to send minions to their death takes a long time.
A lot all at once but I really liked it. VERY impressive visuals for a game jam!
